Leon Crestohl, member of the Canadian Parliament and honorary president of the Canadian Ort Federation, died here yesterday at the age of 63. Mr. Crestohl was a popular political figure who had withstood the Conservative landslide a few years ago to retain his Montreal constituency for the Liberal party.

Born in Warsaw, he was educated in Canada, became an attorney and had been a member of Parliament since 1950, where for many years he was the only Jew. He was for a time editor of the Canadian Jewish Chronicle and rose to community leadership, including the executive committee of the Canadian Jewish Congress, the United Israel Appeal and various Zionist organizations. He became president of Canadian Ort in 1952 and was a member of the World Ort Union executive committee and central board.
