A new “political action committee” devoted to the Arab cause was launched in Washington today with the announced objective of blocking security arrangements involving America and Israel and ensuring continued flow of U. S. assistance to the Arabs.

Prof. William Ernest Hocking, chairman of the new organization, stated “This new committee is frankly and openly a political action committee. It is to be called ‘The Citizens Committee on American Policy in the Near East.”‘ The identity of its organizers indicated a heavy sprinkling of pro-Arab pressure groups of previous years and the so-called “American Friends of the Middle East” as well as American diplomats who leaned toward the Arabs.
