Memorial to Perished Jews Unveiled in Ger; No Jew Lives There Today

A memorial to the 5,000 Jews who perished at the hands of the Nazis in the town of Ger, Poland, the famous Hassidic center and the former seat of the Ger dynasty of rabbis, was unveiled there in ceremonies attended by Polish Government officials and representatives of the Jewish Social and Cultural Association, it was reported here from Warsaw.

The memorial recalls the fact that 5, 000 Jews and a number of Poles were done to death at the site in the town. No Jews live in Ger today.
