The New Orleans Jewish Ledger has suspended publication after 68 years of service to the New Orleans Jewish community. Announcement of the suspension was made in last Friday’s issue. The paper had been in financial difficulties for some months.

A. Slabot, president of the publishing company and editor of the paper, said in a statement that “because of its 68 years of service, the Ledger has become a community tradition, and because to many it is their only means of keeping abreast of events in the Jewish world, we hope that the suspension will be of short duration.”
