Prime Minster Jawaharlal Nehru’s failure to establish diplomatic relations with Israel was criticized today at the opening session of the Swatantra Party’s third national conference, at Bangalore. Prior to that attack, C. Rajagopo lachari, this country’s first Indian Governor-General, and founder of the party, read a message of good wishes from the Liberal Party of Israel.

Criticizing Mr. Nehru’s non-alignment policy, Gayatri Devi, Maharani of Jaipur, told the conference: “India has refused to exchange envoys with Israel, although Nehru had said the country should have relations with Israel.”
