Dr. Isaac Goldenberg, president of the DAIA, representative body of Argentine Jewry, called for a “state of preparedness” by the Argentine Jewish community against anti-Jewish violence, which, he said, was continuing to occur in spite of the “sincere good intentions of the Government.”

Addressing the opening session of a three-day national convention of the DAIA attended by 170 delegates from 17 Argentine communities. Dr. Goldenberg denounced Egypt as a center of “well-planned aggression and psychological warfare against Jews.”

Herzl Gesang, general secretary of the organization, said that it was now time for action since “Buenos Aires is the operation center of the Arab League. ” Asserting that it was not enough “to receive wonderful statements by Government officials,” Mr. Gesang said that “our timely reaction may prevent irreparable damage.”
