Twenty Reform rabbis attending the 75th anniversary convention of the Central Conference of American Rabbis here, left the convention this afternoon for St. Augustine, Fla., to take part in a protest march against segregation of Negroes in that city.
The 20 rabbis volunteered to go to the Florida city, scene of recurrent racial clashes in recent weeks, at the request of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Negro integrationist leader. Dr. King made his request in a telegram to the convention.
