West German citizens will be permitted to work for armament factories abroad only if they are allowed in each case to do so by the West German Government, the bill presented today to Parliament by the Social Democratic Party provides. The bill, which stipulates that in certain cases no such permission should be granted, is aimed at checking German nuclear experts who now work in Egypt for Nasser’s military machine.

The first reading of the suggested legislation will take place later this month and will then be sent for study to a parliamentary committee. The fate of the proposed law is uncertain as Chancellor Erhard has recently expressed doubts regarding the efficiency of such a law.
