Abraham Feinberg, former manager of the Supersol supermarket chain in Israel who confessed to setting fire to the Supersol office here, was released this weekend on bail of 350,000 Israeli pounds ($116,666), a bail figure unparalleled in the country’s legal history.

Police reported that Feinberg, a native of Detroit, admitted that he arranged the fire in order to destroy the company’s records which would show that he had been making false entries in the firm’s books. Police experts are now carrying out a complete investigation to ascertain the extent of fraud in the case.
