An official of the Agriculture Ministry reported today that food supplies are plentiful for the High Holy Days, and that prices will probably remain at present levels.
Reuven Eiland, Ministry director-general, added that marketing forecasts for the first week in September for apples indicated a record supply, and that there would also be very substantial supplies of frozen poultry. He added that there might be temporary shortages of fresh-slaughtered poultry. He said there would be ample supplies of beet and fish.
