More than $1, 045, 000 for the economic development of Israel was raised tonight by the fraternal division of State of Israel Bonds at a dinner honoring Ossip J. Walinsky, a prominent Jewish labor leader in the Roosevelt Hotel. Ambassador Avraham Harman of Israel was the principal speaker at the dinner, which was attended by over 800 representatives of 3, 200 fraternal organizations.

Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz, vice-president of the Israel Bond Organization, told the audience that “the constantly rising response to the Israel bond program indicates very clearly the high degree of confidence Americans have in Israel’s ability to maintain its encouraging rate of economic growth.” Mr. Walinsky, who was accorded special tribute in recognition of his ten years of leadership in the Israel bond campaign as chairman of the fraternal division and for 60 years of service in behalf of the Jewish people, received messages of congratulations from United States and Israel government leaders.
