40 Students Enroll in University of Wisconsin for Hebrew Studies

The University of Wisconsin reported today that 40 students enrolled in the University’s first Summer Institute in Hebrew Studies have left for an eight-week study tour of Israel, The Institute is directed by Prof. Menahem Mansoor, chairman of the university’s department of Hebrew and Semitic studies.

The 40 summer institute students came from 14 universities, colleges and seminaries in the United States. Institute instructors are drawn from American and Israeli schools and are all experts in the teaching of Hebrew by the intensive method. Special classes in Arabic and Aramaic will be offered to graduate students. The Institute is supported by the Wisconsin Society for Jewish learning and by the Federal Government as an activity within the State Department’s cultural exchange and international study program.
