Harry Simonhoff, lawyer, writer and community leader, known for his works on American Jewish history, died here yesterday after a brief illness. He was 75.
Born in Georgia, Mr. Simonhoff showed an early interest in politics and was elected a member of the South Carolina legislature. He later moved to Miami where he practiced law and became active in Miami Jewish life, particularly in the Zionist movement. He wrote a number of books on early American Jewish history. He was a frequent contributor to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
