Israeli agricultural experts worked today on measures to help Arab farmers in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank area market their mounting surpluses of fruits and vegetables. The war disrupted normal distribution of systems and cut off the customary outlets in Egypt and Jordan. The citrus grown in the Gaza Strip is generally of an inferior quality than Israel’s and cannot be offered in Israel’s major overseas citrus markets.
Experts were considering projects for canning a proportion of the crops, of exporting some and of disposing of part on the Israeli market.
