Israel’s security forces today warned some Arabs in the East Jerusalem school system that any attempt to incite teachers or parents against the opening of the schools in that section of the city next week will be dealt with firmly.

To date, one school headmaster has been arrested for trying to organize a general Arab school strike. Other Arabs have been given direct warnings against attempting to block the opening of the schools.

The Arab schools this year will be provided with many new textbooks from which anti-Israeli and anti-Jewish propaganda has been eliminated. The Ministry of Education has brought Israeli Arab teachers from other sections of Israel to replace those teachers who have left this city and crossed over to Jordan.
