The Sunday night knife attack on Meir Wilner, Communist member of the Knesset and head of Israel’s New Communist Party, was officially condemned today in a statement issued by Minister of Information I. Galili. The incident was also generally deplored in the local press, with Haaretz pointing out in an editorial that “knives aren’t a political weapon.”
