The 50th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration was marked here today at a mass meeting organized by the Argentine United Campaign which drew throngs in an expression of solidarity with Israel.
Among the speakers were Dr. Hardy Swarsensky, president of the AUC, and Mark Turkew, general secretary of the South American executive of the World Jewish Congress, who paralleled 50 years of Jewish history with the 50-year Russian history since the Bolshevik revolution. Itzhak Harkavi, former Ambassador to Uruguay and a member of the Jewish Agency executive , reviewed Zionist history up to the present international situation.
