The World Sephardi Federations, representing Jews from Oriental countries, will hold its 3rd annual congress in Jerusalem shortly after Passover, it was announced at a meeting of the WSF presidium attended here by representatives from Britain, France and the United States.
Also announced was the nomination of Elie Nahmias, of France, for president of the organization, to succeed Denzil Sebag-Montefiore who has held the office for the past 13 years. Gad Ben Meir, WSF director, was appointed administrator of the congress.
Mr. Nahmias, 60, is active in French Jewish communal affairs, particularly in the Consistoire de France and the Consistoire de Paris. If he is elected, WSF headquarters are expected to be transferred to France.
