News transmission between the London and New York offices of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency continued under great difficulties today as a result of the failure of two transatlantic cables. JTA communications between the two offices are carried on leased cable circuits.
Alternative transmission using the telecommunications satellites was put into effect Monday but the JTA newscasts were received with a considerable amount of garbling, delaying distribution of news until corrections could be received.
At the same time, seasonal atmospheric conditions affected the JTA radioprinter leased circuits from New York to Tel Aviv, Interfering with transmission of news from the United States to Israel.
