New York High School Pupils May Be Excused from Class to Attend Warsaw Ghetto Rally

The New York City Board of Education has agreed to excuse a limited number of high school students from class on April 25 so that they may attend the Times Square rally marking the 25th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. The function is sponsored by 55 organizations with the Zionist Organization of America, The pupils to be excused must bring written requests from their parents. Abram Salomon, president of the Manhattan Zionist Region, announced that the committee arranging the rally has asked Jewish stores, schools and institutions to close from noon to 2 p.m. on April 25 in tribute to the Ghetto fighters and the six million dead in the Holocaust.
