Silent March of British Jewry Will Protest Polish Regime’s Anti-Semitism

British Jewry will protest against the anti-Semitic campaign being waged by the Polish Government and Communist Party this Sunday when members of more than 20 organizations, led by the Board of Deputies of British Jews, will hold a silent march to the Polish Embassy here. Alderman Michael M. Fidler, president of the Board of Deputies, will lead the march with heads of other organizations. The Jewish Ex-Servicemens Association will provide marshals and stewards.

(In a report to the board of directors of the Synagogue Council of America, Rabbi Jacob Philip Rudin, president of the Council, discussed the situation in Poland where, he said, the regime was guilty of "the deliberate exploitation of traditional hatred of Jews in the Polish population for their own internal purposes" and criticized the U.S. Government for its failure to protest. He declared that "civilized nations that have witnessed the consequences of the cancer of anti-Semitism dare not be silent in the face of its recrudescence in Poland or anywhere else in the world." He asserted that "it is time our government spoke up clearly and unequivocally in condemning the Nazi behavior of the Polish authorities.")
