A conference of European rabbis and heads of European Jewish religious communities, which concluded here, voted to convene a second world assembly of synagogues and synagogue bodies in Israel next summer. The conference, in which Baron Alain de Rothschild, president of the French Jewish Consistory, played a prominent role, adopted a plan under which communities “better endowed spiritually and materially” would extend help to weaker Jewish communities.
