Israel today lifted its 13-month curfew on most parts of the Wesi Bank. The 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. restriction that was imposed after the June, 1967 Six Day War will remain in effect only in Jericho and on a strip along the bank of the Jordan River for security reasons, a Government spokesman said.

The measure was made possible by the satisfactory security situation in the West Bank, Government sources said, and will give the population more freedom of movement and a freer state of mind that goes with it. The move was welcomed in particular by hotel and pension keepers in the Ramallah region who hope it will encourage tourism. The curfew was lifted a month ago in Bethlehem, another West Bank tourist center.
