United Nations Secretary-General U Thant will not go to Algeria Sept. 13 to attend the opening session of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) unless Algeria has released the hijacked El Al airliner by then, it was learned from diplomatic quarters here. The report followed a meeting between Mr. Thant and Ambassador Yosef Tekoah. Israel’s chief representative to the UN, in New York yesterday. It was learned that Mr. Thant will continue his efforts to secure the release of the plane and its passengers and crewmen.
