Jordan’s new Prime Minister Abdel Moneim Rifai told a news conference in Amman today that “Jordan shall continue to adopt the policy of refusing to hold direct talks with Israel,” it was reported here. The Jordanian Government so far has withheld comment on widely published reports that King Hussein had met secretly on at least two occasions with Mr. Eban and at least once with Deputy Premier Yigal Allon. Similar reports have been officially denied in the past. Some Jordanian officials conceded privately that such meetings had been rumored in the Arab world for some time. Israel has denied that the meetings took place.
