The casting officials for next year’s Passion Play in Oberammergau have asked all performers applying for leading roles to sign a declaration that they are not members of the neo-Nazi National Democratic Party. The measure was taken to avert international controversies such as occurred in 1950 and 1960 over allegations that former Nazis were given roles in the Passion Play.
