“Palestinian and Jordanian Arabs illegally enter Latin American countries by the thousands, turn to peddling for their income and dispense hatred of Jews and Israel along with their wares,” according to a report by the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith. Rudy Heis, chairman of ADL’s Latin American Affairs committee, charged that the Palestinians have allied themselves with both leftist and rightist extremists in that area in an attempt to alienate Latins from Israel. He noted that till now the Latin lands have been the only solid pro-Israel bloc in the UN. He cited a range of Arab terrorist attacks on Jews and Jewish institutions in Paraguay, Argentina, Guatemala, Chile and Puerto Rico. Mr. Reis contended that progress against these intrusions is being made, with ADL serving as the rallying point for the various Latin American Jewish communities. But he called for a redoubling of efforts.
