For the second night in succession, the Avivim settlement in the upper Galilee near the Lebanese border was attacked. Mortar shells were fired at the settlements from across the Lebanese border. The settlers went into shelters and Israeli army units returned the fire. No casualties or damage was reported. Three Gaza residents, including a woman and child, were injured this afternoon in the Jaraliya Quarter in the Gaza Strip when a hand grenade aimed at an army patrol exploded.
