Pontiff Tells Hambro Peace Talks Highly Desirable; Urges Truce Extension

Pope Paul Vi, who on Saturday called for a Middle East truce extension and a “positive outcome” of the General Assembly debate, has advised Assembly president Edvard I. Hambro that peace talks are “highly Desirable.” In a message released here today, the Pontiff noted the “delicate and complex” Mideast problem and again urged a truce extension.
