Dr. Solomon Zeitlin, professor of Rabbinic history and law at The Dropsie University, was selected to serve as co-editor with David Ben-Gurion for a “Festschrift” (Jubilee Book) in honor of Israel’s President Zalman Shazar. The Jubilee volume will be published early in 1971 under the sponsorship of The World Jewish Bible Society in Jerusalem of which Ben-Gurion is president. The proposed Jubilee volume will be published in Jerusalem. Selected scholars, both Jews and non-Jews have been invited to write original essays in their respective fields of scholastic endeavor for the “Festschrift.” While most of the articles will be published in Hebrew, the book will include writings in the various other languages as submitted by the authors invited to participate. Many professors at The Dropsie University, including Dr. Abraham I. Katsh, president of the post-graduate institution, have been invited to write articles for this special Jubilee volume which is expected to keynote President Shazar’s career as a leading Judaica scholar.
