Labor troubles continued to mount in Israel today as 6,000 postal and communications workers walked off their jobs in a dispute over the system of promotions. The strike had no immediate effect on telephone service which is automatic. Meanwhile, negotiations were underway to end the strike by 60 customs inspectors at Ashdod port who walked out yesterday in a wage dispute. The port was closed and arriving ships were diverted to Haifa. In Afule, the employes of four local movie houses ended a two-week strike which they called to protest against the weaning away of customers by television.
