The Phantoms and Skyhawk jets in Israel’s Air Force come from America but the bombs they carry and the ammunition they fire is produced in Israel, it was revealed in the latest edition of the Government Year Book to be published shortly. The Yearbook also reports on the growing export of Israel-made weapons. Uzzi submachineguns and various other types of arms and ammunition worth $60 million were exported to some 50 countries last year and orders for four times that sum have been received for next year. Israel’s military industries also supply the Army with about 4/5 of its ammunition needs and other supplies.
