Local Jewish leaders fear that immigration form France might drop sharply unless the economy plans are abandoned. Roger Pinto, secretary general of the French aliya movement, cabled Premier Golda Meir and Finance Minister Pinhas Sapir yesterday urging them to lift budgetary restrictions imposed on immigrant absorption. The cable said that “violent protests” against these measures have already occurred.
