Funeral services were held today for Moshe Kitron, director of the Education Department of the Histadrut Culture and Education Center and formerly a leader of Argentine Jewry, who died here last night at the age of 62 after an illness of several years. Mr. Kitron, who came to Israel shortly after the State was established in 1948, was a prominent Labor Party leader and once served as a Labor delegate to the Zionist Executive Council, the World Jewish Congress and other organizations.
Born in Eastern Europe, Mr. Kitron grew up in Argentina and became secretary of the Argentine Poalei Zion movement. He had close ties with Latin American Jewry, and subsequently became a leading member of the Latin American Association in Israel. His coffin lay in state for two hours today in the Histadrut Executive building.
