3 Jdlers Admit Involvement in Illegal Possession of Explosives

Three Jewish Defense Leaguers were continued in $10,000 bail each yesterday after admitting In Brooklyn Federal Court that they had been involved in the illegal possession of explosives. Sheldon Seigel of Brooklyn. 26, admitted conspiring to plant two bombs at the Soviet Union’s Amtorg Trading Corporation In Manhattan last year, one of which caused considerable damage.

Jacob Weisel. 25. and Eileen Garfinkle. 21, also of Brooklyn, admitted illegal possession of dynamite that the government claims they planted at the USSR’s estate in Glen Cove, Long Island. Seigel faces up to five years’ imprisonment and a $10,000 fine; Weisel and Miss Garfinkle. up to one year and $1000 each. Yesterday afternoon, 18 JDLers were arrested after staging a sit-down in the street when the police barred a demonstration outside the Soviet Mission.
