Five candidates have declared themselves for the offices of Ashkenazic and Sephardic Chief Rabbis of Tel Aviv. The deadline for entering the elections is tomorrow.
There is only one candidate so far for the Ashkenazic post, Rabbi Yedidya Fraenkel of Tel Aviv who seems assured of election. The Sephardic candidates are. Rabbis Haim David Halevi of Rishon; LeZion; Seadya Lopez and Abraham Hafota, both of Tel Aviv; and Itzhak Devir of Bnai Braq.
