Police here are investigating the case of a mysterious caller who ran up a phone bill of tens of thousands of Israeli Pounds telephoning abroad from the office of the Communications Ministry Director General, Simha Soroker. His phone is wired directly to the international switchboard, and the phantom caller, apparently aware of this, has been making calls on it all over the world.
