Yitzhak Kipnis Dead at 78

Yitzhak Kipnis, a distinguished Yiddish writer in the Soviet Union, has died in Kiev at the age of 78, Jewish sources in the USSR reported today. Mr. Kipnis was the author of a number of books and many essays and short stories and was a holder of the Opatoshou Prize. He spent four years in Jail during the Stalin era.
