The Cabinet adopted a resolution today to establish a commission to investigate the Maalot incident. Unlike the Agranat Commission, the new inquiry unit will not be a judicial one but will be made up of “public figures.” A similar commission headed by former police Inspector Pinhas Kopel, was established following the Munich tragedy two years ago. Premier Golda Meir, who suggested creating the new commission, will decide who will serve on it. It will not deal with the military aspects of the tragedy since this will be covered by military authorities. Meanwhile, Mrs. Meir is scheduled to deliver a statement tomorrow to the Knesset on Maalot.
