Two officials of the Latin American Jewish Congress cabled United Nations General Assembly President Gaston Thorn asking him to condemn the efforts in the Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee (Third Committee) to slander Zionism by equating it with racism. The cable, signed by Dr. Nehemias Resnizky, LAJC acting chairman, and Marc Turkow, secretary, said this effort was “one of the most insidious forms of anti-Semitism whose final objective is the genocide of Israel and world Jewry.”
