Israel Satisfied with Frances’s Attitude Toward Safety of Victims

Officials here indicated today they were satisfied with France’s attitude towards the safety of the hijacked passengers. This appeared to confirm reports from France that Valery Giscard d’Estaing has ordered his envoys to insist on equal treatment for all passengers, regardless of race creed or nationality. This equal treatment was Israel’s urgent request to France during diplomatic contacts following the hijack.

In Jerusalem, Premier Yitzhak Rabin and top minsters were briefed throughout the day on developments from Entebbe. Contacts with the French ### through Israel’s ### in Paris, officials here said. In Jerusalem, the diplomatic contacts were being handled by a special foreign ministry team under Director General Prof. Shlomo Avineri.
