Chaim Landau, a member of the Israeli delegation to the United Nations and a close associate of Premier Menachem Begin, called on the Carter Administration today to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in view of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat’s visit to Jerusalem this week. Addressing the national leadership conference of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, Landau said that by making the move President Carter would be fulfilling a campaign promise. Landau said that the major achievement of Sadat’s visit is that the dialogue between Israel and Egypt will now continue directly and will enhance the chances of peace.
