The new trial of convicted Nazi war criminal Pieter Menten, ordered by The Netherlands Supreme Court yesterday, may last two years, according to Informed sources. The three judges who will comprise the special tribunal at The Hague have been selected but the trial is not expected to begin until after the summer recess because of the vast amount of material with which the judges will have to familiarize themselves. Menten, 78, remains in the prison hospital at Scheveningen. His lawyer said today that he might request a provisional release. So for few Dutch newspapers have covenanted on the Supreme Court’s decision.
