The municipal executive of Eindhoven has refused to withdraw its commission to a Dutch former Nazi collaborator to compose a musical tribute to the town on the occasion of its 750th anniversary. The composer, Henk Badings, 74, was branded a Nazi collaborator by a Dutch de-Nazification court after World War II and his works were banned in The Netherlands for ten years. During the war he composed an anthem for the Dutch Nazi Party.
