The Zim Lines, Israel’s national shipping company headquartered in Haifa, reported a net profit of $8.5 million in 1985, compared to a net loss of $43.5 million in 1984. Zim’s operational balance sheet — earnings from the operations of its fleet — posted a $96 million profit last year compared to $44 million the previous year.
