Foreign Minister Moshe Arens has named Michael Shilo as his adviser on Diaspora affairs, reversing cutbacks in the Diaspora relations department made by his predecessor, Shimon Peres.

Shilo, who heads the ministry’s North American desk, will be replaced by Neville Lamdan, presently congressional affairs adviser at the Israeli Embassy in Washington.

In another change reported Friday by Haaretz, Yossi Amihud, who has been the Foreign Ministry’s deputy spokesman, will be elevated to spokesman. He will replace Alon Liel, who is to be assigned to a senior post abroad.
