JERUSALEM, Dec. 24 (JTA) — Israeli forensics experts have exhumed 10 graves believed to contain the bodies of Yemenite children who died during the 1950s. The remains were transferred to a pathological institute for genetic testing. Officials overseeing the operation in the Segula cemetery in Petach Tikvah said the fact that remains were found in the graves disproved claims by some members of the Yemenite community that the graves were empty and the children had been kidnapped. A state commission of inquiry into the matter concluded that most of the Yemenite children who died during that period were sick.
