The director of a Jewish mortuary in Los Angeles was sentenced to two years in prison after he pleaded no contest to charges of forgery and grand theft. The Chevra Kadisha Mortuary has been temporarily closed — a hearing has been set for Jan. 26 to determine whether it will be allowed to reopen.
