The Clinton administration’s ban on imports of 58 types of military-style assault weapons slams the door on Israel’s efforts to sell thousands of such weapons. The move, prompted in part by Israel’s attempts to export semiautomatic assault rifles to the United States, blocks the entry of more than 1 million high-powered guns into the country.
