U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright reiterated the Clinton administration’s view that the future of Jerusalem should be decided in final- status negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Albright made the statement after being asked in front of a Senate subcommittee whether the United States considers that Vice President Al Gore was in Israel when he delivered a speech last month in Jerusalem celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Jewish state.
